Equipment
In 1975, my dream camera was Minolta SRT 303b but I bought instead a Nikkormat FT2 in London and since then I am Nikonist. I have nothing against the other great brands as Pentax, Canon, Olympus etc, but for 33 years Nikon is my preferred brand due to the excellent build quality and thoughness of their bodies and components, optical excellence and the versatility of the Nikon system itself.
On the analogues I used:
Nikkormat FT2, Nikon F2A Photomic - which I still own - , Nikon FE2, Nikon F301, F501, and Nikon F80.
Actually on digital I use a :
- Nikon D200; - with which I produce printable works up to A2 size
Lenses used with the D200
AF-Nikkor 85mm f/1.8-D (equivalent to 127,5mm )
AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED (equivalent to 27-105mm);
AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED ( equivalent to 105-450mm)
AF Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM (equivalent to 15-30mm)
Other accesories used with the D200:
Nikon MB-D200 power/vertical grip;
Nikon SB-600 Speedlight;
GF LightSphere II system;
LumiQuest ProMax Pocket Bouncer;
Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod with Manfrotto 808RC4 head
SLIK mini-tripod
I use also a little Canon Powershot S80 - as my pocketable / go everywhere camera - wich carries a 28-100mm f/2.8-5.3 lens; ( Nikon did not have at the time a match for this little great camera ) - with wich I manage to produce printable works up to A3+/B3 size;
I started however on digitals with Sony cameras - DSC S85 and F717, which I still own - and used also my youngest son's Olympus E500,with Zuiko 14-45mm and 40-150 lenses ( equivalent from 28 to 300mm)
On my analogue works I used BW films from Ilford and Kodak,colour transparencies from Fuji, Orwo and Ilford paper and Paterson/Ilford chemicals.My enlarger was a Durst M670 BW. All my analogue darkroom still exists, although I not use it anymore.
All my works are 100% produced by myself , from capture to printing up A3+ size
When digitalizing my film works, I use an Epson Perfection 4490 Photo scanner.
I do my own printing at home up to A3+ size and I use a HP Photosmart Pro B9180 printer, with a variety of media, for portfolio archival and exhibition purposes.
